Teachable Moments In A Time of Crisis

If the universe was talking to you, would you listen?

No this isn’t a conspiracy theory. I don’t believe in those. Since I’ve been in quarantine going on 6 days now. It has allowed me to take a step back to look at society as a whole. I guess you can blame COVID-19. This entire pandemic has opened my eyes to just how disconnected we really are.

We are currently living in a time where we are being forced to distance ourselves from each other. So we don’t get each other sick. Yet, people are refusing to listen. Either they don’t believe in the virus or feel that they are protected in some way. But COVID-19 has no face. It has no judgment for anyone it touches. It’s killing the elderly and feeding on the sick. But still, people are choosing to ignore it. Just how they have been ignoring each other and the Earth.

What if the Earth/Universe is screaming for us to slow down? We utilize the Earth 24/7 365 days a year. If we took care of it, it would take care of us. Global warming wouldn’t be an issue if we were taking care of the Earth. If you didn’t know, we are all connected to the Earth. We eat, drink, and use it to breathe yet, still treat it like shit. Don’t you think it needs a break just like the rest of us?

2020 should be called the year of reflection because that’s what it’s making us do. It’s almost as if all of this is happening for us to stop, and acknowledge everything around us. Acknowledge your living situations, are you happy? Is there something that needs to change? Do you need to connect more with your family? Do you need to connect more to yourself? Do you know yourself? Tomorrow isn’t promised, 2020 has made that abundantly clear.

RIP to anyone who has passed from COVID-19, Kobe, Gianna, and Pop smoke.

We live in a self-absorbed world. Between work and trying to maintain a social life. We tend to forget about the other aspects that the world has for us. One of which is love. That’s what I believe this entire pandemic is trying to teach us. Also, to wash your hands and cleanse the areas around you. Every situation you go through can be a lesson in life. We are meant to love, not hate. But lately, all that was been shown is hate and greed in this time of crisis.

There are people hoarding tissue and cleaning supplies just because they can. There are people fighting with the elderly for household items. Stores like, Dollar General and Target had to adjust their hours just for the elderly to shop. Now the term “Chinese Virus” is going around which is targeting Asians. FYI folks, that’s racist. It’s also not how we should be viewing this virus. This is the time for us all to clean up our act. Figure out what went wrong. Figure out what you really want out of life, and love our loved ones tremendously.

We finally have that break from work that we’ve all desperately cried for. Instead of trying to rebel and go outside. Stay home. Love each other. Find your niche. Rest. Pray. Do everything you wished you could do if you had the time. Now you have the time to get it done. We don’t know what tomorrow will hold.

Please stay home, wash your hands, and love unconditionally. 2020 is kicking our asses but that doesn’t mean it’s time to give up. Now is the time to isolate and re-build.
