It seems like the older I become the more meaning I seek in all my relationships. Are they supportive? Do they understand me? Do they inspire me to do better?
Don’t get it twisted I have a tight friends group already. Those are my girls for life. But I lately I’ve been feeling like I need more for my personal growth. Before COVID hit I was religiously going to networking events twice a month. I was stepping into a new career as well as into a new me. Evolving and finding my niche. Although I had people to lean on, I needed a fresh start. Mainly for networking purposes.
“Your home-girl Ashley from the 8th grade who still works at a bank can’t tell you how to become an entrepreneur or how to turn a side hustle into your main hustle. She also can’t coach you through your break -up because she’s still with her triflin’ ex. Sometimes you need to network, to find answers, or sometimes to find yourself.”
It wasn’t until this year that I found the support groups I’ve been searching for. Maybe it was the pandemic that opened the doors for a lot of brands. Maybe it was my energy manifesting “help” within the universe. They say when you look, you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for – I did just that.
From mental-health, relationships, self-awareness, and career networking there’s social media platforms that cover it all. Whose brands’ sole missions are to help women like you and I. If these platforms helped push the introvert out of me. I know they will do the same for you.
“Sometimes a girl just needs a support group to call her out on her sh*t and help her get to where she wants to be.”

Just a little pro-tip, don’t be scared girl. All of these communities are full of women trying to figure it out just like you. I used to be the introverted girl who watched from the side lines, the one who never EVER spoke up. From joining these communities I’ve learned the importance of speaking up, and saying my truth. I’ve learned that my voice matters, and people want to hear from me. There’s no shame in speaking your truth. You might be helping others along the way.
There are women from all over the world that want to help you. You just have to decide if you’re ready to let them in.
